Background:

Ms. Petrov was a Vice President of The Nielsen Wurster Group, Inc. with extensive experience in structural, civil and field engineering, project management and construction inspection. Ms. Petrov has performed a variety of Risk Management, Management Consulting and Dispute Resolution engagements on behalf of project owners and contractors, public and private, in the infrastructure, transportation, process, power and building industries. She has a comprehensive understanding of design, engineering and construction practices and procedures.

Her engagement experience includes pre-design work, contract specifications, cost estimates, bidding activities, structural design, shop drawing reviews, quality assurance and control, schedule monitoring and control, RFI and request for change order review.

Ms. Petrov has participated in risk management engagements at both the project and corporate levels, preparing risk profiles and monitoring risk management during project execution. She has experience linking risk profiles to project control systems across several industry sectors.

With respect to Management Consulting, Ms. Petrov performs reviews of project management structures and performance, contract and schedule implementation, as wells as assisting clients with project controls and schedule preparation, review and monitoring on large domestic and international projects.

In Nielsen-Wurster’s Dispute Resolution Division, Ms. Petrov acts as an Engagement Manager, leading and executing analyses involving issues of schedule delay (delay, disruption, acceleration, early completion, and productivity and inefficiency), cost impact, damages quantification, document search and review, preparation of questions for interrogatories and depositions, design, causation and responsibility, scope change, change order and others. Ms. Petrov has extensive experience with expert reports and testimony, and has participated in claims negotiations in all phases of litigation, including discovery and settlement discussions. Ms. Petrov has testified in court regarding schedule delay and cost impact issues.

Ms. Petrov has worked on numerous domestic and international projects. Prior to joining Nielsen-Wurster, Ms. Petrov was a Senior Office Engineer at PBS&J, where she prepared plans, specifications, cost estimates, submittals and shop drawing reviews, and responded to contractor inquiries. She worked on the design and construction of numerous projects including bridges, wastewater facilities, water lines and buildings.

Before joining PBS&J, Ms. Petrov was a Project Manager for R.E. State Engineering, where her responsibilities included site supervision, preparation and review of shop drawings, planning, scheduling, cost estimating, preparation of pre-construction budgets and competitive bid estimates. She was also involved in the construction of multiple bridges and navy piers within San Diego County.

For 10 years Ms. Petrov worked at Transproject Engineering (TE), one of the largest public design corporations in Bulgaria. As a Bridge Engineer at TE she was involved in the preliminary and final design of steel and reinforced concrete railroads and highway bridges. Ms. Petrov managed quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for bridge structures on the extension of major Bulgarian railroad lines as a Project Engineer at TE.

Ms. Petrov also worked as an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, where she taught static, dynamic and mechanics of materials.

She is proficient with software applications and programs for scheduling (Primavera, Microsoft Project and Sure Track), estimating, spreadsheet and document control and review.
