Background:

Chris Petrov is a Nielsen-Wurster Senior Associate and Southwest Regional Manager. He has over 20 years of practical experience in management, design, construction and supervision of large domestic and international projects. His experience includes large design-build projects and EPC such as power plants, process plants, railroads, highways, pedestrian bridges, concrete segmental bridges and steel and composite structures. He also has extensive experience in the design and application of special erection equipment and erection technologies. Mr. Petrov has a comprehensive understating of design, construction and management in the field of civil and structural engineering. During his over 20 years of professional practice, Mr. Petrov has worked with city, county and state agencies, owners, designers, contractors and design-build joint ventures.

Mr. Petrov’s broad project management experience includes project development, project implementation, project control and contract administration. Mr. Petrov has worked on proposal preparation, contract review and negotiation, change order negotiations, approving and obtaining approvals for out of scope work, review and processing RFIs, and review and approval of shop drawings and construction manuals. As a manager of large domestic and international projects, Mr. Petrov was involved in the development of baseline schedules and follow-up reviews of the schedule updates and productivity analyses.

With Nielsen-Wurster Mr. Petrov acts as an Engagement Manager, providing expert analysis involving contract review, analysis of scope changes, productivity / efficiency, disruption / acceleration, cumulative impact, causation and responsibility, cost impact and damages quantification using measured mile method or total and modified cost methods. Mr. Petrov has experience with the preparation of expert reports and presentations; preparation for testimony; and preparation of questions for interrogatories and depositions.

Prior to joining Nielsen-Wurster, Mr. Petrov was a Transportation Department Manager for Earth Tech and before that was a Project Manager and Senior Bridge Engineer for J. Muller International. He was the leading engineer for numerous internationally well-known unique structures. His responsibility included leading teams and being in charge of plans’ preparation and approval, specifications, cost estimates, submittals and approval of shop drawings, and responding to inquires from the owner and contractor. Mr. Petrov managed the work of multiple offices and successfully coordinated the effort with the state, city and county agencies involved.
